You're watching the late, late show on TV and a well-dressed, charming guy comes on with a 30 second spiel about helping you get Social Security disability.
He puts a big toll free number on the TV screen and says call right now. We're open!
Of course, there may be some perfectly good lawyers who advertise on TV. That's really not my point. Here are 10 things you don't know about those late night TV lawyers.
Where is he located? Local, or in a city 1,500 miles away?
How will you deal with him? By phone only?
Is he accessible? Will he answer or return your calls?
Is he too far away to visit in person as you prepare your case?
Will you meet your lawyer before the day of your hearing?
Guarantee: The guy on TV is NOT the person who will meet you for the hearing.
So, who will handle your case? Who will be at your hearing with you?
Would you be better served by a local attorney you can sit down and talk to in person?
Would you be better off choosing your own attorney, rather than blindly signing up with one you've never met?
1How much time will my real attorney spend preparing you for your appearance before the judge?
The Forsythe Firm is a local, experienced firm of Social Security disability advocates located in Huntsville, Alabama. Our office in the Research Park has been in the same location for over 10 years. We have handled over 1,000 cases. Before we agree to represent you, you will sit down with one of us in our office and discuss your case in detail. You get to meet us before you choose to hire us.
In Huntsville, there must be at least 40 attorneys who handle Social Security disability cases. If our firm is not a good fit for you, consider one of the many otherlocal firms. I think you will be well served by a local Huntsville representative.
