A Social Security disability advocate or attorney has experience dealing with the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, as a result, is very skilled at handling the various issues that will arise throughout the application process.

The disability application process is more complex than many claimant's realize. It entails far more than fill out some forms and waiting to be approved. The application alone can take a few days to complete because of the length and complication of all the forms. Hundreds of questions are repetitive and confusing.

In most cases, an application will turn into an appeal. These are even more complicated. You will probably go before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ), who will ultimately decide whether you receive benefits. Going before this member of the federal judiciary without representation is never advisable.

A well-qualified, experienced Social Security advocate will......

  • know the terms and abbreviations thrown around by Social Security...

  • understand the federal regulations that govern the awarding of benefits...

  • know the type of evidence required to get a claim approved at each level....

  • be able to handle tough questions, problems or roadblocks in the process....

  • achieve the fastest adjudication to your claim...

  • answer the dozens of questions that confuse you....

  • get the maximum benefits available to you under the law

In short, a Social Security disability advocate is your guide through the wacky, confusing world of Social Security bureaucracy. His or her job is to prevent you from making serious mistakes that can either delay or deny benefits.
